The Creative Chateau Gallery was opened as an artist studio on premise of the renovated Hess home in 2002, as a single room in the barn. Currently the barn has five rooms on the lower level and a lean-to level which was originally the gallery and office. The final phase of the renovation completed in November of 2015, showcases the upper barn which is 4200 sq feet loaded with nostalgia. The new space blends the historic architecture of a 1860’s barn complete with hand hewn beams, trunnels which are tree nails made for pinning mortise and tenon joints, and a hay track with the function of today’s conveniences. The upper barn has hardwood floors, a 30 foot stone fireplace, a 800 square foot mezzanine, a glass enclosed room which is used as a multi- functional space, clean up area, Wi-Fi, hard wired speakers with Bluetooth for audio streaming, plenty of lighting with dimmer switches, 7 ceiling fans and lots of windows to show off the great country view!
The restoration has been a labor of love to preserve history, add value and function to a space that was quietly deteriorating and offers a place to retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.
