Watercolor Artist

Whether it was through exposure or in the family genes, there is a creative thread running through numerous generations of my family. Both of my parents were creative people and passed that to my generation and beyond. Our home was always a buzz with activity. So it was only natural that I would continue my creative path by going to Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus, Ohio for four years, graduating with a BFA in Graphic Arts. After starting a family and moving to Texas, I continued my education by taking Commercial Art courses through Texas State Technical Institute. I graduated with an Associates Degree and began a career in Commercial Art which I continued through most of the '90's. While in West Texas, I also had the pleasure of teaching Art as Continuing Education thru El Paso Community College, and

later, at McClennan Community College and Baylor University, Waco, TX.. In 2000, we returned to Ohio where I have been pursuing my passion with a fine art path. I've worked in a variety of mediums over the years, but have found watercolor to be one of my favorites. I like realism in my work and am into detail. I can spend a considerable amount of time on a painting before I'm satisfied. I've recently begun exploring pastel as well. My works have been shown at Ashland University, Ashland Art Center, and The May Show, a regional competition of the Mansfield Art Center, in recent years. In the fall of 2009 I will be teaching what I love through continuing education courses.
