Videos by Ohio Artist Terri Meyer

Videos are a great way to learn painting if you do not have access to an instructor or books on the subject. I find it beneficial to read a book of an artist then watch a video that demonstrates their process. The reading and viewing seem to strengthen the learning process

When I was growing up, creating art was a mystery. There were few books on the subject on how to approach painting, but plenty of museum books featuring masterpieces. I kept asking how do they do this?  Most of my art training came through school, in which I was blessed with two great teachers. To supplement my thirst for art knowledge, I would watch PBS painting videos. Bob Ross and and Scottish gentleman who painted in watercolors were my mentors. Today young artists are fortunate to have a plethora of books and videos at their disposal.

I have always enjoyed watching artists paint. This started when I was a small child around the age of 5 when I was introduced to painting by an elderly lady who lived across the street. I would drop in and visit while she was painting and was intrigued by the process of creating an image in paint. As I became older, Public Broadcast Station aired painting with Bob Ross and a Scottish Watercolor Painter which I would record the program to paint along. We all start somewhere to become inspired, now you know the rest of the story…….

I hope you enjoy my  painting videos, if you like what you see please like my video on youtube and subscribe to my channel as I add more videos in the future.
