Free Art Videos by Ohio Artist Terri Meyer
Free Instructional Art Videos you will love!
Instructional Art Videos are a great way to learn painting or other skills if you do not have access to an instructor or reference books. I find it beneficial to read a book by an artist and then watch a video demonstrating their process. Reading and viewing seem to strengthen the learning process.
When I was growing up, creating art was a mystery. There were few books on how to approach painting, but plenty of museum books featuring masterpieces. I kept asking myself how do they do this? Most of my art training came through junior high and high school, where I was blessed with two great teachers. I would watch PBS painting videos to supplement my thirst for art knowledge. Bob Ross and Frank Clarke, who painted in watercolors were my mentors. Today young artists are fortunate to have many books and YouTube videos at their disposal.
I have always enjoyed watching artists paint, sculpt and create crafty things. When I was a child, around 5, I was introduced to painting by an elderly neighbor who lived across the street. I would drop in and visit while she painted and was intrigued by the process of creating an image in paint. As I became older, Public Broadcast Station aired paintings with Bob Ross and a Scottish Watercolor Painter, Frank Clarke, which I would record the program to paint along. We all start somewhere to become inspired. Now you know the rest of the story.......
